The Slow Growth Philosophy

Look around and you’ll see it
Messages telling you to hustle & grind till you drop.
Hacks guaranteeing to 10x your income or followers overnight.
Brands preying on your desire for instant gratification.
Activity feeds churning out one trend after the next.

Tired?
Because we are.
For way too long, we listened to these messages and bought into the hype. Only to end up discouraged when we didn’t see instant results overnight. Discontent when we compared our progress with others. And demotivated to keep moving forward.
So we decided to flip
the script and take things…
Slow
content.
Slow
courses.
Slow
products.
Slow
Growth
It’s the age-old understanding that true mastery takes time. It’s choosing to stick your middle finger up to the concept of “overnight” success, and committing to doing things on your own timeline and at your own pace.
Don’t get us wrong. Slow growth doesn’t mean you shouldn’t aim for huge goals. And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re getting left behind.
It’s recognizing that true progress begins with passion, patience & persistence.

Instead of pumping out 100s of courses on dozens of different topics, we focus on creating high-quality courses in 2 main categories:

01
Self-Development

02
Creativity
AND WE GO DEEP. (REAL DEEP). WE ONLY TEACH THINGS WE’VE PERSONALLY MASTERED, AND WE GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE ACTION STEPS AND MINDSET YOU NEED TO ADOPT SO YOU CAN GO FURTHER, NOT FASTER.
But we don’t just create courses and send you on your way.
We build tools to complement your slow growth lifestyle & cultivate a community of fellow slow pokes to lift you up when you’re this close to throwing in the towel. Because what fun is the journey without a few friends?
Who came up with this anyways?

That would be me,
Matt D’Avella.
I’m a filmmaker, director of two Netflix documentaries, and a YouTuber.
Like you, I’ve been bombarded with fast fixes & hacks on how to achieve exponential growth in record-breaking time. And I’ve fallen painfully flat on my face while trying to “make it” overnight.
But when I look back at the things I’m most proud of, none of them happened “overnight.”
Whether it’s growing my YouTube channel to 3m subscribers, paying off $97k in student debt, or mastering healthy habits, everything meaningful I’ve ever created has taken dedication, a willingness to move forward, and most importantly, time.
That’s why I started Slow Growth Academy. To help you let go of the arbitrary deadlines we place on ourselves and build practical skills for life at your own pace.
But fair warning – adopting the slow growth mindset isn’t for the faint of heart.
It’ll require you to push through discomfort, put in the hard work, and trust that you’re making progress – even when it doesn’t look like it.
But one day, you’ll look up and see true, sustainable change.
So strap on your grit, persistence, and odd sense of humor.
We’re in this for the long run.
